Description

We are looking for a New York based Executive Assistant to provide in-person and remote support for Esther Perel’s day-to-day activities, as well as towards ongoing company projects and goals. You will provide high-quality administrative and clerical assistance to Esther directly, and interface with her team at Esther Perel Global Media.

Esther Perel is a renowned psychotherapist, bestselling author, speaker, and creator of the hit podcast Where Should We Begin. Over a career that has spanned more than three decades, Esther continues to enliven the conversation around personal and professional relationships, challenging outdated views of modern human connection. She oversees Esther Perel Global Media (EPGM), the team that helps produce her media projects as well as digital products and trainings.

If you are passionate about the state of relationships and know you can add value to the EPGM team, you will be a vital part in shaping the future at this growing media company.

Ultimately, you should be a systems thinker who can identify and address needs as they arise and work creatively to make sure that Esther’s workflow runs smoothly.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate calendar and scheduling for busy international schedule.

  • Book domestic and international travel (flights, cars, accommodations), and prepare detailed travel and event itineraries.

  • Provide logistical and production support to Esther for trainings, speaking engagements, and workshops.   

  • Manage Esther’s inbox and email communication.

  • Create Invoices for patients, events, etc. and manage vendor payments.

  • Provide ad hoc tech support to help solve basic tech and device issues (Apple iphone, Macbook, and various software programs).

  • Research and present topics as needed for media and speaking engagements.

  • Develop and organize electronic and physical filing systems.

  • Attend weekly team meetings and be the liaison between Esther and her team to communicate schedule changes, support needs, etc.

  • Manage personal requests as needed (e.g. running errands, booking family travel).

  • Accompany Esther to local events and meetings, and occasional domestic and international travel to provide support for a variety of speaking and media projects.

Requirements

  • Ability to work in-person and to commute to the West Broadway WeWork.

  • Ability to travel 1-3 times per quarter.

Education and Qualifications

  • At least 2 years experience working as an Executive or Personal Assistant, preferably for a high-level public figure.

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent work experience.

  • Excellent MS Office and/or MacOS Works skills.

  • Familiarity with online calendars, web conferencing software, and cloud systems.

  • Familiarity with QuickBooks a plus.

Skills

  • Experience exercising discretion and confidentiality with sensitive company information.

  • Excellent organizational skills and systems thinking with an ability to think proactively and prioritize work.

  • Strong communication skills.

  • Cultural and international sensitivity.

  • Spanish and/or French proficiency not required, but a plus.

Salary and Benefits

  • We are offering between $50-65k+ base salary, based on experience.

  • Partial reimbursement of health insurance premiums.

  • 2 weeks paid vacation, as well as bank holidays and additional days over Christmas.

  • Unlimited Metrocard.

  • Lunch stipend for food on the go.
